Mycotoo’s creative approach always starts from “The Why.” We believe that understanding the vision behind any new project and protecting that vision is paramount and informs the “how” and the “what” – activities, interactives and design choices. This philosophy is at the core of each design and production phase:
The creative charrette is an initial brainstorming session with Mycotoo Principals, Associates and key stakeholders from the clients’ team to generate the big ideas.
During this initial phase, we work in collaboration with the Client to conceive the big idea. Using deliverables such as illustrations, a written narrative and a preliminary layout, we create a presentation that communicates the guest experience which is suitable for display to senior executives, investors, key stakeholders, government officials or anyone else needed to move the project forward.
During Schematic, the concept ideas are translated into preliminary drawings showing sizing and general specifications. Preliminary infrastructure requirements are defined and compiled within a ‘Schematic Show Package’ and ‘Architectural Design Package’ consisting of facility layout plans for interiors and exteriors, initial technical show systems designs and elevations drawings.
During Design Development (DD), the Schematic package is expanded upon to inform the facility construction documents. Detailed drawings and descriptions help communicate the design intent. Request for proposal packages are generated and managed by Mycotoo. Other work during this phase includes design of graphics/signage, characters and uniforms, media pre-production (scripts and storyboards) for all media production (main show media, preshow media, queue line media, welcome video, safety videos, video marquee displays, etc.)
During Fabrication, Mycotoo’s Creative and Project Management teams work very closely with the vendors to ensure all items are built as originally designed, ultimately meeting the creative intent.
Our team of award-winning art directors, cg artists and special effects designer will develop the media (both visual and audio). Mycotoo’s Creative Director will work with composers and media producers to create the specialty media for the project.
During this phase, Mycotoo will work with the show vendors to program, test and adjust each element in the show spaces to ensure the creative intent is met.
A proper handover is key to the success and longevity of the project. Mycotoo will work directly with the client’s staff to help train them properly on how to operate and maintain all show components.
With the project now open, our team of designers and producers remain invested in the long term strategic planning and success of the project.
