Mycotoo was engaged by the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance to develop the storytelling and experiential overlay for a major expansion of the park’s footprint: Denny Sanford’s Elephant Valley, opened in March 2026. This multi-acre project builds upon and extends the Zoo’s existing elephant sanctuary, elevating both visibility and guest engagement with one of the park’s signature animal experiences. As part of the expansion strategy, Mycotoo helped shape a guest journey designed to increase foot traffic to the elephant habitats while enhancing public understanding of conservation efforts. The project also introduces new F&B offerings and a flexible event venue, transforming Elephant Valley into a vibrant destination zone that deepens guest connection, supports operational needs, and enriches the overall park experience.
